Breakthroughs…continued

Good Morning You :)

Today is going to be a great day because you decided it would be 💗

Yesterday morning I was thinking about breakthroughs and then the breakthrough I  needed on something I was stuck on literally broke through—an epiphany, the popcorn of brain chemicals when you have that “aha” moment, which is making me research now—what exactly is happening in my brain when this happens? Why does it feel so good? And why does it last so long? Here’s the science: I Googled “epiphany brain chemicals” and here’s what I found--”An epiphany or “aha” moment is a sudden, high-impact cognitive shift, often characterized by a rush of pleasure and a lasting change in perspective” by creating a boost in neural chemicals that not only make you feel amazing, but also solidifies the memory—our brain chemical friends include dopamine (reward), serotonin (feel good, calm), norepinephrine (focus), and endorphins (bliss).

So, part of the problem was that I was thinking too hard about—well—my “problem”. It wasn’t until I stopped thinking about it that the solution it was able to appear—when I was relaxed and journaling about breakthroughs. I wasn’t even thinking about my problem, and then out of the blue the answer appeared. And I’ve found this to be true in other areas of my life—it's only when we step away after thinking hard, that the answer can appear, and this can be staring at Wordle for 10 minutes, then putting it down and coming back to it that the answer appears right in front of you. Perhaps it’s a creative endeavor—the pieces just aren’t coming together in the way you’d like. Or maybe, it’s a bigger life decision that you sleep on, and the answer is there for you when you wake up.

My decision to become a life coach was an “aha” moment. I could write about that now, but am thinking in the essence of time, I need to get out for my morning walk. We’ll hit the pause button on this thought and pick it up next time I journal.

This is a great start.

Love you!
